On Paper I am the Prime Target

 Paper lights up fast

and burns out fast

but I am not paper

and I refuse to die

even when that is exactly what I am supposed to 

or expected to

do. 

 "You are right," she tells me, "On paper you are the prime target for grooming."

But that's just on paper,

And I am not paper.
